Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment technique that is derived from Eastern Medicine’s acupuncture. It is widely used for the treatment of muscle tightness or spasm, and often in chronic pain.
As the name suggests dry needling is the placement of a fine gauge solid needle into a trigger point (the knots in muscles) to elicit a twitch response. As the needle is solid, there is nothing injected into the body, rather the changes in muscle tightness and pain occur due to a change in the neural system known as the ‘needle effect’.
